I have been a member of the choir since year 2002 in our Parish. I have conquered my fear of singing in front of the crowd just as long as I sing with the whole choir. No solo, please. You wouldn’t want to hear me sing alone either. It will scare the hell out of you, seriously!
But even if I can sing the gospel songs – I cannot for the love of me sing at any karaoke bar. Even if every weekend at MIL’s house the whole family and relatives of my husband would line up in singing over the karaoke machines I would just sit around and listen.
But certainly, there was a time they were able to force me sing one song. I was tipsy and all of them were drunk – I made sure they won’t remember a thing (even my singing!) the next day! 
i love to sing too. but not in front of an audience. i only sing in the shower.
