Easter Sunday or the Feast of the Risen Christ is always celebrated in our place with a traditional karakol dance. The atmosphere here is like Christmas or New Years. Festive mood includes dancing in the street, singing videoke on every home, drinking sessions every where and lots of food. There’s a parade of the Sto Nino and the risen Christ statues on different costumes and yearly my mother, her sister and her cousin participates on it; dancing on the street from 1pm to 5pm. Gosh, its hot but more than the weather I worry about my mother’s condition. She has hypertension, so before and after her dancing session my sister has to monitor her blood pressure. After a half day of dancing under the scorching sun, I guess mom is looking for some best joint supplements now. Good thing Yena is there to give her some loving massage. Am home alone now. Yena is with my mother, a wannabe masseur and my husband (where else?!) on a drinking binge with his cousins at MILs!
